Qualifications:

1. Any resident of Tippecanoe Township or anyone employed on a full-time basis within Tippecanoe Township who is at least 18 years old, possesses a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, and holds a high-school diploma or GED is eligible to apply for membership. We allow up to (5) out of Township residents to be members.

2. Each new member will undergo a 180-day probationary period, beginning the day the applicant is approved.  The probationary member must pass the basic probationary criteria, as outlined in the department’s Rules and Regulations, before the end of the first 90 days of probation.

3. Each firefighter must pass the state certified Firefighter I/II program within their first 3 years.

4. Each firefighter must pass the state certified Hazmat Operations program within 3 years.
